Andrew and Shannon's Day at Bourne Mansion was one for the books! Picture this: a perfect fall day, with leaves in every shade of red and gold you can imagine. These two couldn't have picked a better spot - they wanted something with character, and boy did they get it! One of my favorite moments was catching them saying their vows under these massive oak trees. The light was doing this incredible thing where it was streaming through the branches, creating this natural spotlight around them - the kind of lighting setup you literally can't buy! Their first dance photos in that stunning ballroom came out like something from a movie.
I honestly can't say enough good things about shooting at Bourne Mansion. Whether you're there for a wedding or any other kind of shoot, this place just delivers every single time. The mix of old-world vibes and natural beauty makes it impossible to take a bad photo here - and trust me, I've shot at a lot of venues! It's definitely at the top of my list of favorite spots to shoot in NY.
Photographing at Bourne Mansion in Oakdale, NY is absolutely incredible - I get excited every time I grab my camera and head there! This place is a photographer's dream come true. The architecture is just jaw-dropping, and don't even get me started on those gardens - they're perfectly kept and make the most amazing backdrops. What I really love is how gorgeous it looks no matter when you shoot. I've captured everything from spring flowers popping up to those dreamy summer golden hours, and let me tell you - even in winter, when there's fresh snow on the ground, it's pure magic through the lens.
The history of this place adds such a cool dimension to every shoot. It's wild to think about Frederick Gilbert Bourne living here, and later it was even a military academy! You can feel all that history when you're shooting - it just gives every photo that extra something special. There are so many perfect spots for photos, from these incredible historic rooms (the light in there is just chef's kiss) to the gardens that look like they're straight out of a fairy tale.
What makes shooting here such a breeze is the amazing staff. As a photographer, there's nothing better than being able to focus completely on getting those perfect shots without having to worry about logistics. These folks just get it - they know exactly how to keep everything running smoothly so we can catch all those magical moments.
